5 Simple yet Effective Skin Care Steps

One of my passions besides makeup artistry is skincare, as a Licensed Esthetician I know the importance of a good skincare routine. Not only for the health of your skin but for the better result that you will have when putting your makeup on. Makeup can only do so much, this is why I wanted to share a basic yet effective (and hello SIMPLE not COMPLICATED) skincare routine that will take you 5 minutes to do. There are SOOO many products out there and I know it can be hard to decide what is right for you. You also need to take into account your skin type before buying products - most of the time. The products I am going to share today are for ALL skin types and you will fall in love. *This is also in the order you should be using the products. Nighttime is when I would recommend following the steps below.

1. CLEANSE Japanese Cleansing Oil by Sonia Roselli Beauty. Guys this cleansing oil is life-changing. It not only removes your makeup impeccably but it also is considered your cleanser. You always want to “double cleanse” - remove the makeup and then wash your face. It is 100% a 2 in 1 product. I have been using this for almost two months and I never want to run out.

  • has sugarcane & sake so it helps with pigmentation issues. Helps your skin look brighter. So if melasma is your enemy, JCO is ready for battle.

  • Bergamot & Eucalyptus. Bergamot is mildly antiseptic, refreshing and anti inflammatory. Eucalyptus is antibacterial and anti inflammatory.

  • is not gluten free. Contains sorbitol derived from wheat.

  • blush hue comes from pure cyanocobalamin, (a common form of B12), and cherry blossoms, that possesses a deep rose color. B-12 is an anti inflammatory.

2. EXFOLIATE Avani GLOW Weekly Pads. If you live in the St. Louis Area and are into skincare you have probably heard of Racquel Frisella. She is an injection and Skin Care Expert. She sells an amazing weekly exfoliating pad, that helps tighten, brighten, and of course glow. I am a huge fan of exfoliating pads. They are very effecting but also very easy to use! Here is her blog post explaining how to use this specific product. ROCKYNP for 10% off of your order

3. MOISTURIZE Water Oil by Sonia Roselli Beauty or if you are SUPER oily then check out the Water Balm. I bought these two items plus the one above to use for my professional kit. I, of course, try everything skincare on myself before adding it into my kit, well these items never made it into my kit. I 100% kept them for myself (and then bought another set for my kit). I would say my skin is now normal/oil. The water oil is a product that I never thought I would fall in love with because it is OIL and I have oily skin but it gives such a beautiful glow and plumpness to my skin that I have never experienced before. Just one small pump is enough for your whole face. I have used it throughout the entire summer and can transition me into winter. I used to use an oil control moisturizer in the summer and a more hydrating one for winter and now I won’t need to buy two.

4. EYE CREAM Drunk Elephant - Shaba Complex Firming Eye Serum This is an extra step to do once you get comfortable with the steps above add in an eye cream. This is a product that I feel people want to see immediate results. They use it twice, don’t see a difference and then stop. But eye creams, in my opinion, are a very gradual improvement. So give them some time and add them into your routine when you feel you have gotten in the habit of the steps above. I prefer to do them at night.

5. EYE GELS Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. I posted about these in an earlier blog post. They are awesome to have on hand for special occasions or when you feel like your underlies just need more attention. They help hydrate and help de-puff!

6. Ok this isn’t a step but your skin is the body’s largest organ, drink your dang WATER. It does wonders for the look (and feel) of your skin.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Stay beautiful all - XO JENN
